Exploring the Impact of Prejudice & Discrimination

Over the years, I have shown the video A Class Divided in my diversity sessions, as a way to explore prejudice and discrimination. A Class Divided is about an Iowa schoolteacher who, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in 1968, gave her third-grade students a first-hand experience in the meaning of discrimination. This is the story of what she taught the children, and the impact that lesson had on their lives. Whenever I have shown it, it has had a profound effect on those who have watched it. For this reason, I thought I would share it with you. To experience this video, click on http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/divided/ Let me know what you think.
